Colour of Hope – Art Exhibition (08.07.2011 to 10.07.2011)


Svct has organized a painting exhibition under the name of 'Colours of Hope' on 8th July to 10th July 2011 at Satyagrah hall, Rajghat, Gandhi Darshan in New Delhi. It was inaugurated by Actress & Hon'ble MP. Ms. Jaya Prada in the evening of 8th of July, 2011. Prof Zargar Zahoor, Dean of faculty of fine arts, Jamia Milia Islamia was the Guest of honor. The inauguration was accompanied by a short performance by sarangi Maestro Kamal Sabri. The exhibition remained open for the next two days i.e. 9th and 10th of July from 11am to 7pm. It showcased the work of number of Tihar jail inmates who were trained by the NGO and up-coming artists. Almost all electronic & print media channels and newspapers were present at the first day of the event, 'Colours of Hope' to cover it. High tea was also served after the function. Two Member of Parliament also visited exhibition. Some guests also came from aborad . Some guests like Mrs.Asha Hooda, (wife of Haryana chief minister), Dr. Bhalla, Lily George, etc were present at this event. The total number of paintings sold was 86.
There were many write ups and articles post this exhibition in many newspapers like Times of India, Indian Express, Hindustan Times, Jansatta, Statesmen, Pioneer, The Hindu, Dainik Bhaskar, Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, Aaj Samaj etc and channels like Disha, etc even covered this exhibition and broadcasted it later. 'Colours of hope', was thus, a huge success.
